The short version: Your TV commands, the photos and videos you cast, and your mirrored screen go straight from your iPhone to your TV over your home Wi-Fi and never reach our servers. To improve the app we collect anonymous usage analytics with Google Firebase, and RevenueCat records your App Store purchases. None of this is linked to your name or email, and none of it is used for advertising or tracking.
AS Remote uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Remote Config to understand how the app is used and where it fails, so we can fix problems and improve it. Firebase receives:
We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not show ads, and we do not share this data with data brokers or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Remote Config lets us test different versions of the paywall; it uses a Firebase installation ID for that. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Deleting the app resets these identifiers.
AS Remote Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles all billing and payment details, and AS Apps Studio never sees your card or Apple ID. For payment questions, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
We use RevenueCat to keep a record of App Store purchases. RevenueCat receives your purchase history (product, date, price and renewal status) together with an anonymous ID it creates for the app, plus your device model, iOS version and country. RevenueCat's handling of this data is described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
If you turn on the free trial reminder, it is scheduled as a notification on your iPhone. No server is involved.
When you mirror your screen, AS Remote encodes what is on your screen and streams it directly to your TV on your local network. Your screen content is not recorded, stored, or sent to us or anyone else. On Android TV and Google TV, mirroring and casting use Google's Cast SDK, which may send technical and usage data about Cast sessions to Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
AS Remote stores the following data only on your iPhone or iPad, using Apple's standard local storage APIs:
This data is never shared with AS Apps Studio or any third party. It is removed when you uninstall the app.
AS Remote needs access to your local Wi-Fi network to find and control your TVs. Control traffic goes directly between your iPhone and your TV on your home network using these protocols:
None of this traffic goes through AS Apps Studio servers.
When you cast photos or videos, or mirror your screen to a Samsung TV, AS Remote runs a temporary web server on your iPhone that serves the media directly to your TV. It runs only while you cast or mirror and can only be reached on your local network. No media files are uploaded to any external server.
Pairing with Android TV and Google TV requires a mutual TLS handshake. AS Remote includes a built-in certificate used only for this pairing protocol. It is not used to identify you or to send data outside your network.
AS Remote is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The analytics and purchase data described above is collected the same way for every user and is not linked to anyone's identity.
