Quick answers

The most common questions from behind the counter.

Open Products and tap Add. You can scan a barcode with the camera to start a new item, or type the details in yourself. Give each product a name and price, and add the cost, SKU, barcode, stock on hand, and any variants when you have them. A product photo is optional. Save, and it is ready to ring up.

If you scan a barcode that is not in your catalog yet, PocketPOS lets you create a product from it on the spot — the barcode is filled in for you, so you just add the name, price, and any other details. Next time you scan that barcode, it drops straight into the cart.

Build the cart, then tap Checkout. Choose Cash or Card. For cash, enter the amount the customer handed over and PocketPOS calculates the change to give back automatically. Need to take part on cash and part on card? Use a split payment and enter each amount — the app tracks what is left to pay until the sale is settled.

After a sale, PocketPOS shows a clean receipt. From there you can share it — by message or email, or to a compatible AirPrint printer — using the standard iOS share options. You can also reopen any past order from your history and share its receipt again later.

Open Orders to see your full order history, newest first. Tap any order to see its line items, how it was paid, and the change given, and to share the receipt again. Everything you have ever rung up stays on your device, so your history is always there.

Start your shift by opening the drawer and entering your starting cash count. PocketPOS keeps a record of the session as you sell. At the end, close the drawer and enter the counted cash — the app shows the expected amount alongside your count so you can spot a difference before you cash up.

If you have paid for a feature or subscription and it is not showing — for example on a new device — use Restore Purchases in the app's settings while signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and validated through Apple and RevenueCat, so restoring brings them back. To manage or cancel a subscription, open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.

On your device. Your catalog, sales, receipts, cash-drawer records, and settings are all stored locally — PocketPOS works fully offline and does not send your business data to a server. That also means we cannot recover it for you, so keep your own backups of anything important. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
