Privacy policy

PocketPOS: Scan & Sell ("PocketPOS", "the app") is an offline-first point of sale built on one promise: your business runs on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains what the app stores, where it lives, and the small number of services involved in making the app and this website work. It is short because there is not much to disclose.

The short version

• There is no account. You start selling immediately — no sign-up, no sign-in, no email address.
• We collect nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting.
• Your product catalog, sales and orders, receipts, cash-drawer records, and business and tax settings are stored on your device.
• The camera is used only to scan barcodes and, if you choose, to photograph products. Nothing from the camera is uploaded.
• The app does not send your catalog or sales to any server. It works fully offline.
• Purchases are processed by Apple and validated by RevenueCat using App Store receipt data only — never your catalog or sales.
• This website loads fonts from Google Fonts and sets no cookies.

No account, no collection

PocketPOS works without any account or registration. We do not operate a server that stores your business data, and we have no way to see your products, prices, sales, or takings. We do not collect usage analytics, device identifiers, location data, or diagnostics, and the app does not request access to your contacts, calendar, or messages.

What the app stores on your device

As you use PocketPOS, the app stores on your device:

• Your product catalog: names, prices, costs, SKUs, barcodes, stock on hand, variants, and any product photos you add.
• Sales and orders you ring up, including line items, payment method, change given, and split-payment breakdowns.
• Receipts and your full order history.
• Cash-drawer records: opening and closing counts and the sessions between them.
• Your business and tax settings, such as store name, currency, and tax rates.

This data lives in the app's private local storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else by the app.

Camera and photos

PocketPOS asks for camera access so you can scan product barcodes at the register and while building your catalog. If you choose to add a photo to a product, the camera or your photo library is used only for that image, which is stored with the product on your device. Barcode scans and product photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

Works fully offline

PocketPOS is designed to run without a connection. Scanning, selling, taking cash and card payments, giving change, printing or sharing receipts, and reviewing order history all happen on your device. The app does not need the internet to do its job, and it does not send your business data to a server in the background.

Notifications

Any reminders PocketPOS shows are local notifications, scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content passes through a server.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Any optional paid features or subscriptions are purchased through Apple and billed to your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. To validate purchases and unlock paid features, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-instance identifier and App Store receipt data — product identifiers, transaction and entitlement state, and trial status. It never receives your product catalog, sales, receipts, cash-drawer records, or anything else you put into the app. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

This website

This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which may receive your IP address as part of the font delivery request. Beyond that, the site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, sell, or rent your data — we never have it.
• We do not sync your catalog or sales to iCloud or any cloud service.
• We do not show advertisements.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not send your business data to any server.

Deleting your data

Because everything lives on your device, deletion is in your hands. You can delete individual products, orders, and records inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. There is nothing to delete on our side, and because we hold no copy, we cannot restore data once it is gone — so keep your own backups of anything important.

Children

PocketPOS is a tool for businesses and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app has no social features, no ads, and no public content.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. Given the app's offline-first design, we expect changes to be rare.
