Receipt Rescue: AI Tracker ("Receipt Rescue", "the App") is built around a simple principle: your receipts stay yours. This policy explains what data the App handles, where it lives, and how AS Apps ("we", "us", or "our") uses service providers to make the App work.

The Short Version

• Apple Vision OCR runs on your device.
• When cloud parsing is enabled, the active receipt image and recognized text are sent to Google Gemini to extract structured fields such as merchant, total, tax, date, and currency.
• You can turn cloud parsing off in Settings. When off, parsing stays on-device.
• If you enable iCloud sync, receipt data is stored in your private CloudKit database under your Apple ID. We cannot access it.
• We use RevenueCat for subscriptions and Firebase for anonymous analytics and crash reporting. These services do not receive receipt images, merchant names, totals, notes, tags, or categories.
• We do not sell data, run ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

Information The App Handles

When you capture, import, review, organize, or export receipts, the App may store or process:

• Receipt photos or imported receipt files.
• Extracted receipt fields, including merchant, total, tax, tip, date, currency, category, and confidence scores.
• User-entered details such as notes, tags, favorite status, archived status, and bookkeeper status.
• Bundles, PDF export metadata, and "sent to bookkeeper" timestamps.
• Preferences such as capture mode, currency list, theme, alternate icon, notification settings, and iCloud sync settings.
• Bookkeeper name and email, if you choose to add them.

Where Your Data Lives

• On your device: receipt content is stored in the App's local container.
• In iCloud, if enabled: receipt content is mirrored to your private CloudKit database. Apple operates iCloud storage under your Apple ID. AS Apps does not have access to your private CloudKit database.
• In exports you create: when you export or share a PDF, CSV, JSON, image, or bundle, the destination is controlled by you through the iOS share sheet or the service you select.

Google Gemini Cloud Parsing

Receipt Rescue can use Google Gemini to improve structured field extraction. When this setting is enabled and your device is online, the App sends the active receipt image, resized and compressed, plus Apple Vision's recognized text to Google's Gemini API. Gemini returns structured fields used to fill the receipt form.

Gemini does not receive your name, email, Apple ID, contacts, location, or your broader receipt library from us. It receives only the receipt being parsed and the text recognized from that receipt. You can turn this off in Settings, after which the App uses on-device OCR and local parsing.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage optional Pro subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-instance identifier, purchase entitlement state, product identifiers such as monthly or yearly Pro, trial status, and App Store transaction information needed to validate purchases. RevenueCat does not receive your receipt images or in-app receipt content.

Firebase Analytics And Crashlytics

We use Firebase to understand app health and diagnose crashes. Firebase may receive anonymous app analytics, device model, OS version, app version, screen names, subscription-state properties, and crash diagnostics. Firebase does not receive receipt images, merchants, totals, dates, categories, notes, tags, or OCR text from us.

iCloud Sync

Backup and sync use Apple's CloudKit. Your receipt data is stored in your private iCloud account and synced between devices signed in to your Apple ID. We do not operate a receipt database for your content and cannot browse your iCloud receipts.

Camera, Photos, Files, And Notifications

The App requests camera access to capture receipts, photo library access to import receipts, and file access when you choose files to import or export. Notification permission is used for local reminders such as bundle-ready alerts, review reminders, sync warnings, and weekly summaries. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.

Payments

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card number or billing details. Subscription status is validated through RevenueCat as described above.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not show third-party advertisements.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not require an AS Apps account to use Receipt Rescue.
• We do not access receipt content stored in your private iCloud database.

Export And Deletion

You can export your data using in-app export options, including PDF bundles and JSON data export. Deleting the App removes local app data from your device. To delete iCloud data, use iOS Settings under your Apple ID iCloud storage controls for Receipt Rescue.

Children

Receipt Rescue is not designed to collect personal information from children. The App does not include social networking, ads, or public user-generated content.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes may also be surfaced in the App.
