Privacy policy
Effective date: July 15, 2026
FamilyBrief: Family Organizer ("FamilyBrief", "the app") is built on one promise: your family's life stays on your family's iPhone. This policy explains what the app stores, where it lives, and the small number of services involved in making the app and this website work. It is short because there is not much to disclose.
The short version
- There is no account. You never sign up, sign in, or give us an email address.
- We collect nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers.
- Everything you capture — voice memos, screenshots, photos, pasted text — is stored on your iPhone and processed there.
- AI extraction and voice transcription run on-device using Apple's frameworks. Your content is never sent to a cloud AI service.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat validates purchases using receipt data only — never your family's content.
- This website loads fonts from Google Fonts and sets no cookies.
No account, no collection
FamilyBrief works without any account or registration. We do not operate a server that stores your content, and we have no way to see what you put into the app. We do not collect usage analytics, device identifiers, location data, or diagnostics, and the app does not request access to your email, messages, calendar, or contacts.
What the app stores on your device
When you use FamilyBrief, the app stores on your iPhone:
- Captures you add: voice memos, screenshots, photos of bills or notices, and pasted text.
- Items the app extracts and you confirm: tasks, appointments, deadlines, and shopping items, with the person they belong to.
- Family member names and colors you set up.
- Preferences such as brief time and notification settings.
This data lives in the app's local storage and in a private App Group container on your device, which is how the app shares data with its widgets. Nothing in that container leaves your iPhone.
On-device AI
FamilyBrief uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to read your captures and suggest structured items — who, what, when. Voice memos are transcribed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. All of this happens on your iPhone's own hardware. Your captures, transcripts, and extracted items are not sent to us, to Apple's servers by the app, or to any third-party AI service.
Notifications
The evening brief and any reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content passes through a server.
Permissions
The app asks for microphone access to record voice memos, photo library access to import screenshots and photos, and notification permission for the evening brief. Each is optional and used only for the feature you invoke. You can change any of them in iOS Settings at any time.
Purchases and RevenueCat
The optional FamilyBrief Plus subscription is purchased through Apple and billed to your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. To validate purchases and unlock Plus, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-instance identifier and App Store receipt data — product identifiers, transaction and entitlement state, trial status. It never receives your captures, extracted items, family member names, or anything else you put into the app. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
This website
This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which may receive your IP address as part of the font delivery request. Beyond that, the site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, sell, or rent your data — we never have it.
- We do not show advertisements.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not read your email, messages, or calendar.
- We do not send your family's content to any server.
Deleting your data
Because everything lives on your device, deletion is in your hands. You can delete individual captures and items inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data, including the App Group container used by widgets. There is nothing to delete on our side.
Children
FamilyBrief is designed for parents and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app has no social features, no ads, and no public content.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. Given the app's design, we expect changes to be rare.
