1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how AS Rock ID ("the App"), developed by AS Apps Studio ("we", "us", or "our"), handles your information. By using AS Rock ID, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Photos for Rock Identification

When you scan a rock, the captured photo is sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis. The photo is:

• Compressed and resized before sending (max 4MB, 2048px)
• Transmitted securely via HTTPS
• Processed by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for identification
• Not stored permanently by us after processing

Google may process photos according to their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy.

2.2 Apple Sign-In Data

If you sign in with Apple, we receive:

• Your Apple ID user identifier
• Your name (if you choose to share it)
• Your email (if you choose to share it)

This data is stored securely in the device Keychain and is not transmitted to any server.

2.3 Rock Collection Data

Your identified rocks, photos, and collection data are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you have iCloud enabled, this data syncs across your devices via Apple's CloudKit infrastructure.

2.4 Subscription Data

Subscription purchases are managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not collect or store payment information.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not collect location data
• We do not use advertising identifiers
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties
• We do not use cookies

4. Data Storage & Security

All personal data (name, email) is stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's encrypted storage system. Rock collection data is stored locally via SwiftData with optional iCloud sync through CloudKit.

5. Third-Party Services

• Google Gemini AI: Used for rock identification. Photos are sent for processing.
• Apple CloudKit: Used for iCloud sync of your rock collection.
• Apple StoreKit: Used for in-app subscription management.

6. Children's Privacy

AS Rock ID does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages but requires parental guidance for purchases.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Settings > Delete Account)
• Sign out to remove your Apple ID data from the device
• Delete individual rocks from your collection
• Disable iCloud sync from iOS Settings

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date.
