What is Auth Kit?

Auth Kit is a secure authentication app that stores your 2FA codes, passwords, and passkeys. All your data is stored locally on your device with 256-bit AES encryption, ensuring maximum privacy and security.

How do I add a 2FA code?

You can add a 2FA code by tapping the + button on the Codes tab. You can either scan a QR code using your camera or manually enter the secret key provided by the service you're setting up.

Is my data backed up to the cloud?

Auth Kit stores all data locally on your device using Apple's Keychain Services. Your data syncs across your Apple devices through iCloud Keychain if enabled, but we never have access to your credentials.

What happens if I delete the app?

If you delete Auth Kit without exporting your data, your stored codes, passwords, and passkeys will be permanently lost. We strongly recommend using the Export feature to create regular backups of your data.

How do I enable AutoFill?

Go to Settings → AutoFill and follow the setup instructions. You'll need to enable Auth Kit in your device's Settings → Passwords → Password Options and select Auth Kit as an AutoFill provider.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to your device's Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find Auth Kit, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your premium features will remain active until the end of the billing period.

Troubleshooting

Codes Not Working

If your 2FA codes are not being accepted:

  1. Ensure your device's date and time are set automatically
  2. Go to Settings → General → Date & Time → Set Automatically
  3. If the issue persists, try re-adding the account

Face ID / Touch ID Issues

If biometric authentication isn't working:

  1. Ensure biometrics are enabled in your device settings
  2. Check Auth Kit permissions in Settings → Auth Kit
  3. Try re-enabling biometrics in the app settings

Sync Issues

If your data isn't syncing across devices:

  1. Ensure iCloud is enabled on all devices
  2. Check that you're signed into the same Apple ID
  3. Enable iCloud Keychain in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud

AutoFill Not Working

If AutoFill isn't showing Auth Kit:

  1. Go to Settings → Passwords → Password Options
  2. Enable Auth Kit as an AutoFill provider
  3. Restart your device if changes don't take effect
